Abstract
The purpose of this article is to examine the influence of patriarchal culture on the inheritance system in Balinese society, the influence of Hindu religious law on the inheritance system in Balinese society and to find out the status and role of women after marriage in the Balinese inheritance system. The article is written using the library method and presented in a qualitative descriptive way The results of the study from this article are the influence of patriarchal culture in the inheritance system of Balinese society, which is the priority of sons as heirs in the family. Likewise, the influence of Hindu inheritance law in the inheritance system of Balinese society, where the son as a purusa status plays an important role in the family other than as heirs in terms of property as well as the successor of descendants and obligations owned by his parents. The position and role of women after marriage in the Balinese inheritance system is twofold, namely as sentana rajeg (purusa) and women with predana status. word
